ONE SWEET STEP AT A TIME

Let’s make it.

01

Get ready

Heat a conventional oven to 175°C. Place paper cases in a 12-hole muffin tin. Mix the flour and baking powder together.

02

Make the batter

Beat butter and sugar until pale. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla. Fold in the flour mixture and 30 ml milk without overmixing.

03

Bake evenly

Divide between the cases, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 18–22 minutes until springy and a skewer comes out clean.

04

Cool completely

Leave in the tin for 5 minutes, then move to a rack. Allow at least 40 minutes before frosting.

05

Flavour the frosting

Beat the frosting butter until light, add icing sugar in stages, then the frosting milk and 50 g caramelised biscuit spread. Beat until smooth.

06

Finish the cupcakes

Pipe or spoon frosting onto the cooled cakes. Drizzle with the remaining 20 g caramelised biscuit spread, gently loosened if necessary.

A helpful little detail

Use only a little drizzle so the topping stays balanced. Let the cupcakes cool fully before frosting.

Keeping it lovely

Keep covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; bring to room temperature briefly before serving.

Allergens

Wheat, milk and eggs. Check all flavour additions for nuts and soy. Always check your own ingredient labels.
